RANKED

1. X-Men '97 Season 1
The best adaptation of X-Men in any medium. Returning to this well is so refreshing after Fox's 24 year drought of comic flavor. I couldn't be more Xcited for a second season with this same creative team. Unless he went full Mr. Sinister, bring back Beau DeMayo!

Premiere: Mar 20, 2024

2. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1
This has potential to be Spidey's best cartoon yet. You can just feel the care poured into each decision. The pacing and scope are like a prestige drama. Between this, X-Men '97 and Spider-Verse, Marvel has finally officially conquered animation. Sorry DC.

Premiere: Jan 29, 2025

3. What If...? Season 2
They managed to improve by refining the already incredible first season. The weak comedy of Party Thor is turned into a strength thanks to the Die Hard inspired Christmas Special, but it's the remarkable Kahhori episode that elevates Season 2 to all new heights.

Premiere: Dec 22, 2023

4. What If...? Season 1
Cleverly uses the comic's format to fill the new multiverse using finely crafted 3D animation with a rich, cinematic art style. The returning cast bring authenticity. Gives creators the freedom to workshop ideas for universes to spinoff into live action.

Finale: Oct 6, 2021

5. What If...? Season 3
The weakest season overall but still a good time. They purposely veered into
What The--?! territory too much for my taste. I prefer dark What If...?s showing how bad things would get if the heroes lost. A serious episode introducing worthy Storm really would have gone a long way.

Premiere: Dec 22, 2024

6. I Am Groot Season 2
These are great. A big improvement. Gets better as they go, building to a wonderful finale guest starring Jeffrey Wright's Uatu The Watcher. It feels like it should have come out around the Holiday Special, but the extra time polishing the animation clearly payed off.

Premiere: Sep 6, 2023

7. I Am Groot Season 1
Didn't get a great first impression from "Groot's First Steps". The animation and physics just aren't up to the standard we have come to expect. "The Little Guy" is the standout. It's an adorable spin on a sci-fi trope and gives off heavy Pikmin vibes.
