X-Men '97 Season 2, Episode 4

This was an all-timer. My only complaint is the Egypt arc isn't longer. Young Apocalypse is his best self and Rama-Tut was a nice treat after what happened to Kang in the MCU, but it's the stakes and emotional impact that propel this series over the rest.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Nintendo DS

This actually plays pretty well. The parry system feels good and is required for some tough bosses. There are only five levels but they are pretty long. Unlockable comic costumes for bosses help replace the drab movie looks. The art style has a low-poly charm.

Marvel Legends Mephisto with Eternal Throne

Damn. This thing feels just short of a HasLab. What was the hold up? Did stores just not want to stock satanic toys? Either way, he was well worth the wait. The fabric cape and loincloth for easy sitting was a must. The 360° detail on the throne is incredible.

What If...? Secret Wars (2026) 1

This was a compelling take for revisiting Hickman's Secret Wars. I didn't realize how nostalgic I was for the tail end of the original Ultimate Universe until I started this. Ultimate Invisible Woman deserved better after all that. Great, now I miss two Ultimate Universes.

X-Men '97 Season 2, Episode 3

Joining young Apocalypse in his revolution against Rama-Tut already recaptured the thrill of the first season. The brief moments of forced perspective remind me how far we've come from the stiff animation of the classic series. I hope the Egypt arc gets room to breathe.

Now it feels like the '90s with competing X-Teams. It risks feeling overcrowded, but that's part of the first season's charm. I feel like this would work better opening the season, and that stinger was redundant, but spending time with the side characters was a treat.

I am delighted to see the miraculous pacing is intact. I have never been a fan of X-Men's messy time travel stories, but I trust this team to tighten it up considerably. They have already delivered on the bone claws. Michael Johnston from Obsession great as kid Cable.

Ultimate Endgame (2025) 1-5, Ultimate Universe: Finale 1

It feels messy and rushed, mostly thanks to switching between artists. The realtime continuity paying off outside the bubble is clever. The climax is wishy-washy but the epilogue is the true ending the line deserved. Overall, the highs just barely edge out the lows.
