X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Sony PSP

It's a clunky hack and slash with charmingly miniature levels. We visit Japan to fight The Hand in this version and Africa is much more realistic. Surprisingly, this one tells the best story by framing levels around William Stryker extracting Logan's memories.

What If...? Spider-Man (2026) 1

J.M. DeMatteis returns for a worthy follow-up to the classic Kraven's Last Hunt. He and Yildiray Cinar do a great job recapturing the iconic noir-like tone. I love the direction they chose. It feels wonderfully authentic, like it could have actually come out in the late '80s.

Rocket Raccoon: Rocket Rewind (2026) 1

This has a pretty rough first impression. It doesn't even get good until the wonderful Keith Giffen tribute tied to the reprint of Rocket's true first appearance. It's rare that the frame story steals the show. Add the Mike Mignola variant cover and it was well worth it.

X-Men '97 Season 2, Episode 8

This was not how I saw this all going down. They seem to be mixing cherry picked elements of bad Apocalypse stories to keep it suprising. Rogue needed more development. As the penultimate episode I am worried this arc will end before fully finding it's footing.

Wonder Man Season 1

This is the opposite of the Marvel stereotype film snobs whine about, almost feeling like a carefully crafted rebuttal. The cinematography feels indie. The rare FX are refreshingly subtle. It's the Hollywood inside baseball critics love, but with irresistibly relatable characters.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

A revolutionary epic that hit at the right moment. This is the best season, topping Netflix Daredevil season 3. The struggle brings new dimension to characters that were already incredibly layered. The parallel character arcs masterfully build a brutally tense collision course.

The Punisher on X-Box

This is up there with Spider-Man 2 and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for best Marvel game adaptation. Punisher via Man Hunt and Max Payne is perfect. The presentation is superb. Thomas Jane killed it and I'm glad he got to at least voice a comic accurate Frank.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

God bless Tom Holland for forcing Sony to keep it street level. It's the most comic-accurate live-action Spidey film. I was hoping for more from the villains but they really helped the world feel lived in. Punisher, Hulk and Sadie Sink all served the themes beautifully.
