X-Men: Gamemaster's Legacy for Sega Game Gear

It has a bit of a Mega Man thing going on where you benefit from using the right mutant for each level. Bishop is easily the MVP, absorbing projectile damage to refill his ammo. The graphics even got a pretty big upgrade and the level design is much better.

Wolverine: Revenge (2024) 1-5

I was expecting more from this creative team. I've been conditioned to anticipate a world shattering twist when I see Hickman. The art is great, but a brutal revenge story needs something darker and moodier. The brutal Sabretooth War also took some wind out of its sails.

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 6

The slow burn explodes in an epic high-stakes climax. The CG still sticks out, but I wouldn't lose it. It works for King Pin but outside of rooftop jumping, Daredevil should stick to costumed stunt work. White Tiger's daughter definitely lives up to his performance.

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 5

A holiday bank robbery bottle episode. Thats some cozy TV right there. It's a glimpse into the softer show before they reworked it back to the original tone. The Yusuf Khan cameo felt forced, but he's hard not to like. They definitely released two to avoid fan backlash.

X-Men for Sega Game Gear

They did a decent job condensing the Genesis formula to fit a handheld. The permadeath plus recruiting mutants after levels keeps it interesting. The powers are well represented. Wolverine actually heals and Storm can fly over swaths of the labyrinthine levels.

Baymax Dreams Season 2

The animation is better but I don’t know why they used Fred of all characters. His Shaggy PG pothead thing is just annoying. The last short was an interactive cloud streaming tech demo. The glitch effect is similar to Wreck-It Ralph which sent me down a rabbit hole.

Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4

Another week without action, but I'm not complaining. Forcing action into each episode can feel formulaic. The slow burn brings the character moments to the surface and lets them simmer, like the vulnerable side of King Pin and the emotional reunion with Punisher.

Marvel Legends Spiral

I'm a sucker for figures with multiple sets of arms. Arm each with bladed weapons and we are in business. Her classic look is perfect for a Marvel Vs. Capcom team. My only complaint is she's a little soft. I'm guessing extra arms came at the cost of density, but I'll take it.
