Predator Kills The Marvel Universe (2025) 1-5

The culmination of the various Marvel/Predator crossovers. It isn't as strong as the recent Spider-Man crossover, but I would say it is still the second best of the bunch. The use of Kraven is great and adds another layer to help avoid it feeling like just another Marvel alien invasion.

Lego Marvel Avengers: Code Red

We are having a Lego heavy holidays so I figured I'd try these out. I was surprised to see it was a stealth Christmas movie. The plot is fun and is totally something a kid would dream up. I was sold by the Wolverine swimsuit pin-up reference and Red Shift cameo.

Marvel Legends Black Bolt & Triton 2-Pack

I was satisfied with the last Black Bolt with energy emanating from his tuning fork, but he was oddly tinted blue. If this had that energy effect he would be the definitive Boltagon. Triton finally rounds out the Inhumans Royal Family with a swappable head with breathing mask.

Lego Marvel Super Hereos: Universe In Peril on Nintendo 3DS

They ditched the open world, split the levels into thirds, removed all the puzzles and replaced jumping with a dash. They could have done more on 3DS but its just a port of the mobile game. Dying resets the level so it is a little more challenging. The FMVs are laughably low-res.

The best Marvel event since Jonathan Hickman's Secret Wars. Ryan North treats Dr. Doom with a care and respect reminiscent of Jim Starlin's classic work on Thanos. R.B. Silva is a master of the craft. These events often fall apart in the end but this finale was truly perfect.

Lego Marvel Super Hereos on Xbox One

As a Nintendo fan I've always found the Lego games too janky. I'm used to family friendly games that are heavily polished. These are best played co-op with an inexperienced gamer. It always bugged me that buildings in these games aren't made of Lego. Galactus was fun to see.

Marvel Legends Medusa & Gorgon 2-Pack

The Inhumans Royal Family arrived just in time for Christmas. Gorgon is just too big. I have him fully crouched but he still towers over nearly every other Legends figure. His mace doesn't fit well in his hands. I'd also have preferred the classic body suit on Medusa. Otherwise, they are great.

Marvel Legends Starfox & Champion of the Universe 2-Pack

I wonder which of these they saw as the selling point? I'm glad to finally be getting the Elders Of The Universe. I certainly didn't expect to get Champion first but I'll take it. He's huge and looks good but really needed some facial expression. Thankfully Eros has that covered.
